Nobody swims out here. You sit on the back of the boat, the winch pays the line out to whatever height you paid for, and it reels you back onto the same deck. Hawaii charges for the mountain backdrop, the Keys for the water colour, the Gulf for the sheer length of beach.

The line goes to a thousand feet on the top package, which puts the whole crater and the Ko'olau ridge in one frame. Boats run every hour from the Kewalo basin and the early ones get the flat water.
The clearest water on the list
Key West flies over reef flats, so the water under you is green rather than blue and you can see the bottom the whole way up. Most operators sell it as a sunset slot too, for more money and the same line length.
Emerald Coast, and usually a dolphin
Destin runs calm, shallow Gulf water and the boats fly three abreast, which makes it the cheapest way to get a family into the air together. Afternoons chop up; the morning runs are the smooth ones.
Egypt flies parasails cheaper than anywhere else, and bundles them.
Hurghada and Sharm run parasailing off speedboats all year, usually bundled with a banana boat, a jet ski and a plate of lunch on an island. Nowhere else on this site sells a flight for twenty dollars, and nowhere else throws in the transfer.
Most parasailing is not sold on its own.

Xtreme Parasail takes you from Kewalo Basin Harbor above Waikiki’s south shore, with tandem or triple flights on lines up to 1,000 feet. Four things that decide whether a parasail flight happens.
None of this is on the booking page. It is what the crew checks on the jetty, and it is the difference between flying and watching from the boat.
- 01Combined weightBoats fly to a total harness weight, not a per-person one. Two adults over the limit get split across two flights and pay twice; a light child usually has to fly with an adult rather than alone.
- 02WindParasailing is the first thing cancelled on a windy coast and the last thing refunded. Morning slots go up in flat water; by mid afternoon the sea breeze has filled in and the boat may sit it out.
- 03One, two or three seatsMost winch boats fly tandem as standard and triple on the bigger rigs. Flying alone is often the expensive option, and some listings quote the whole harness rather than the head.
- 04Wet or dryA winch boat takes off and lands on the deck without you getting wet. The dip is optional and you ask for it in the air, so bring the dry clothes anyway.

The Palm and the JBR towers
Dubai is the one place that sells parasailing as an architecture flight. The boats work the strip of water between the Palm Jumeirah and the Jumeirah Beach Residence, so the whole ascent is towers, and the Burj Al Arab sits off the end of the tow line. Operators fly year round and the light is best in the hour before the marina lights come on.

Waikiki at a thousand feet
Three operators work the water off Waikiki and all of them sell the flight by line length, from three hundred feet up to a thousand. The top package is the one people come back for, because at that height Diamond Head, the reef line and the whole Ko'olau ridge fit into one view. Winter swell can close the harbour for a morning.

Orange Bay, off Hurghada
Orange Bay is a sand island an hour out of Hurghada by speedboat, and the parasail there is part of a whole day rather than a ten minute stop. Boats moor off the bar, fly people over water shallow enough to read the sand through, then put lunch on the island. It is the cheapest full day on this site by a distance.
